What is the per mile compensation at Stevens Transport?

.82 cents per mile loaded or empty. Longevity increases to .83 cents after 2 years. Additionally, you receive .02 cents per mile for temperature controlled loads. Currently we also pay .14 cents per mile for a fuel surcharge.

If I am willing to run, how many miles can I average per week?

There is ample freight to average 3000 to 5000 miles per week (depending on single or team operators). You may also be eligible to train forStevens increasing your miles even more.

What is the term of the lease?

On a 2002 T-2000 Kenworth Aerocab Aerodyne the lease term is a weekly short term lease. Leases range from short term to 3 years depending on the life of the truck.

What are my truck payments?

Truck payments range from $550.00 to $685.00 per week, plus standard .03 cents per mile.

What type engine and extras do the trucks have?

All units are powered by either a Cummins or a Caterpillar 435 horsepower engine with 10 speed transmissions, splendor interiors, upper and lower air fairings for enhanced fuel economy, dual air ride seats, and cruise control.

Is there a fee for the trailer?

Absolutely not.

Am I forced to take all loads offered?

No, but more loads mean more miles and more money. Customer Service is always important.
Is it possible for me to find my own load if Stevens can not?
In the unlikely event Stevens cannot load you, they will pay your miles to the next authorized pickup point.

How often do I get home?

As an independent contractor you decide, however the most profitable stay out 2-4 weeks at a time.

What if I want to take a rider on the truck?

Stevens' Rider Policy is very liberal, requiring only that you get with Safety for authorization to comply with DOT, have passenger insurance and individual is at least 10 years old.

How is loading and unloading reimbursed?

Driver is reimbursed 100% of related expense.

Do I need a Hazmat endorsement?

Yes, approximately 8% of Stevens' volume requires the endorsement.

Does Stevens have a Driver Training Program?

Yes, in fact they utilize many accredited schools through out the country and operate their own in-house school in Dallas. Additionally, they offer several programs for drivers with limited experience. We encourage our owner-operators to become trainers, also.

Does Stevens reimburse for Highway and Bridge tolls?

Stevens pays 100% of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, New York City bridge fees and 1/3 of other tolls.
